From sketch to game – that's how the Marba shirt was born
Behind our colorful Marbat shirts is a story of creativity, craftsmanship and a love of children's play. Here you can follow the journey - from the first pencil stroke to a finished shirt ready for adventure.
It all started with an idea. I saw a color I loved, wanted to capture a feeling of freedom, a movement. I want children to be able to move without clothes that hinder or restrict them. Our designers sketch out different shapes together with me and the factory. Playful and functional, with soft lines and a generous fit. I saw immediately which design would fit in a child's world the best!
The next step was to choose the fabric. We work with high-quality, sustainable materials – fabrics that can withstand wash after wash and retain both color and shape. Choosing the quality and material was more difficult than I thought, but I had experts by my side who taught me everything worth knowing about the fabrics. I wanted to keep the color palette to bright tones and we landed on the colors: Classic Green, Cornsilk and Mulberry.
Samples are sewn and tested, not just on mannequins but in real play – on playgrounds, in gardens and on sports fields. We want to know that the garments will keep up with every jump, spin and hug.
When everything felt right, my final comments and wishes were sent to our wonderful factory in India, one of my home countries, where craftsmanship meets technology. Every stitch, button and label is put in place with care. The end result? A Marba sweater that is ready to accompany children on their everyday adventures, big and small.
